Juggling in the Opera
Posted on Dec 15, 2010

Little Orchestra Society has produced this Christmas show annually for decades. This year they're presenting a new version that includes juggling—by Playful Productions President Viveca Gardiner, Jacob D'Eustachio, Michael Karas, and Jennifer Slaw Napolitano.

Amahl and the Night Visitors, written in the early 1950s by Gian Carlo Menotti, is a popular Christmas tale about a young disabled boy who meets the magi as they travel with their gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

One of New York's most anticipated holiday events, this glittering new presentation will enchant audiences of all ages. An entirely new production of this musical masterpiece about universal love and generosity, staged by John Sheehan, highlights the colorful excitement of the Three Kings Day celebration important in Latin American cultures throughout the world. This heartwarming opera speaks to children and adults of all backgrounds with its spirit of hope, joy, and human kindness—a perfect holiday treat for the entire family.

Targeted to children ages 6 to 12.
